Emmy Strong Initiative

The Emmy Strong initiative was inspired by and created in memory of Emmy Valentina Carter who lived her life to the fullest everyday. She overcame 4 major heart surgeries and many other medical challenges during her short 8.5 months of life before passing away suddenly. Half of her life was spent at the Alberta Children’s Hospital and the other half was at the Stollery Children’s Hospital. Emmy was and always will be a heart warrior full of strength, courage, bravery and resiliency. The purpose of the Emmy Strong initiative is to keep Emmy’s legacy alive and eventually form a foundation to help the charities and hospitals that helped us and Emmy throughout her life and our journey. During Emmy's 8.5 month life journey we spent just over half of that in Edmonton at the Stollery Children's Hospital, without Ronald McDonald House's support we don't know how we would have been able to afford us both staying so close to the hospital and making sure the Emmy had all of her family always by her side.
