Beauty and Bling a Fundraiser Thing!

Most of us don't have to worry about a sick child requiring hospitalization. In January of 2015 our eldest son had a severe kidney infection to his low functioning kidney. So scary to see your child at their worst. We live in Barrie and our Urologist is based at Hamilton's McMaster Children's Hospital. Fortunately for us, Dexter's stay was no longer than a week but we were welcomed with open arms the Ronald McDonald house for accommodation. Such a beautiful and humbling experience. There are families that stay there long term and though it is much like a hotel, the volunteers and staff make it a wonderful home away from home. We were welcomed a second time to the house when Dexter had to have his low functioning kidney removed. The night before his surgery we all got to stay there and Dexter had such an amazing time playing in the games room...for a moment we forgot what was inevitably going to happen in hours to come. All went well and we now have a healthy little boy. This is why I am fundraising for RMH Hamilton. Last year we donated some toys for Christmas and I'd like to think that this money will bring some more smiles to those families that have to endure the pain and emotional stress of an unavoidable situation. Especially over Christmas. This year I ask for people to either donate directly to this event or join me at my house for Beauty & Bling! I will have a lady doing nail applications for $10 with GelMoments (non-toxic varnish) and I will be donating my commission from selling my Stella & Dot jewelry.
