The Ronald McDonald House Newfoundland and Labrador is a place near and dear to my heart. It has served as a "home away from home" during some of my family’s most challenging chapters. My brothers have spent many days within its supportive walls, and she has seen firsthand the vital sanctuary it provides for parents and siblings alike. One of my most cherished memories involves my mother and grandfather coming together to prepare a Thanksgiving dinner for the house guests—a moment of warmth and normalcy in the midst of medical uncertainty . Having witnessed the immense support required to navigate the journey of a child with medical needs, I have developed a profound passion for giving back. I understand that while the doctors provide the care, the community provides the strength. Today, I am turning that gratitude into action. As a contestant for Miss Achievement, I am competing to raise funds for the Ronald McDonald House, with the goal of winning the Spirit of Giving scholarship and award. This isn’t just about a title; it is about ensuring that the "village" remains strong for the next family who walks through those doors.
