Santaguida Sisters' Annual Fundraiser for RMHC South Central Ontario!
Je recueille 2 000 $ pour Maison Ronald McDonald Canada.
Fin : 11 septembre 2017
We three sisters, Natalie, Julia and Sabrina Santaguida host an annual fundraiser for RMHCSCO. We allow parking, by donation, on our property (1360 Barton , Winona) for the Winona Peach Festival - August 25th, 26th, 27th and we also sell refreshments. Over the past two years our refreshment stand has rasied over $22,000 and Julia's big hair cut raised $9300 for the House! That's over $31,000! Please help us in reaching our online goal so we can continue to help RMHCSCO families again this year. In early 2014 we started to notice changes in Sabrina’s behaviour. She wasn’t eating and losing weight and her behaviour became very aggressive. We went to the hospital and after an MRI, we were told that Sabrina had a brain tumor the size of egg. She had to have surgery right away or in time could be fatal. Thankfully, her surgery and recovery was successful! Today, Sabrina is a happy, healthy and energetic 8 year old. During that time, we stayed at McMaster Children’s Hospital and were told about the Family Room. It was great; a place where we could go with our family and regroup. Sabrina would only eat waffles and bananas during her hospital time. Our dad had to leave every day to go the grocery store and Ronald McDonald House was able to provide this for us, freeing up more time for our family to be by Sabrina’s side. For others that may seem like something small but it was a huge weight off our shoulders. The room is bright, cheerful. The staff always made us feel at home and was ready to assist us. We are forever grateful. This is why we do our fundraiser every year; to say thank you and to give back.
