.What is a room? The simple answer is, four walls and a door. But to a teenager, a room can be privacy, escape, control, sanctuary and security. A teenager needs their own room. For a family staying at Ronald McDonald House, a room represents those same things. It is your space away from home. It is where the weary head hits the soft pillow. Where tears can be shed without an outsider's gaze, it is a space for private frustration. It is home. This February, it will be fifteen years since we first walked through the doors of our room at Ronald McDonald House in London. Every year, on our daughter's birthday, we ensure that we give back to this place that held us, fed us, comforted and supported us; as it has so many before, and so many since. For the past two years, Freya has raised funds to sponsor room 105, which has a plaque naming it ‘Freya's Room’ at Ronald McDonald House in London. She has the same goal this year - Freya's Room, for all the families who need a home, their own box of tissues, and their own place of rest. It costs $5000 to sponsor a room for a year.
