The Michael D'Urso Fund has pledged to support Christmas Day at RMHC Toronto and the RMHC Toronto Holiday Camp program. Families staying at the House are dealing with the heartbreak of a child who is ill, and now is the time of the year where they will be spending the holidays away from home and away from family and friends. Let’s all come together to keep families close during the holidays, to help make the holidays feel like home, to help spread smiles and hope, and let’s all come together to fund the fight for the patients and families at The Ronald McDonald House Charities Toronto Let’s bring them all the Christmas joy that they deserve. Together, let’s reach this $30,000 goal and keep the holiday spirit alive for these families. There is no one more deserving of the wonders that the season brings. ***To Fund Christmas Day at RMHC, we need to raise $20,000!**** December at RMHC Toronto is typically filled with many activities and holiday magic. The dedicated “elves” at RMHC Toronto do everything they can to make the holidays a joyful time of year for the families we support. This year, the holidays will look different with an abundance of caution to protect the vulnerable populations we serve. With your help in raising $20,000, the families will still be able to feel the magic of the holidays because we will be able to: * Ensure every child at the House (patients and siblings) receives a gift outside their door on Christmas morning. * Give the Gift of Nights – Providing families their stay for Christmas. Estimated at $155 per night, per family, your donation will go towards paying for all of the families’ stay during Christmas. * Special Christmas Day meals including Christmas Brunch and Christmas Dinner -prepared by our caterers and delivered right to their doors. * Activities that families can do as a family in the comfort of their rooms. *To Fund Joyous Holiday Magic, we need to raise $10,000 for the RMHC Toronto Holiday Camp* We have lots of special activities planned for our campers trying to make memories for them that will last long after they leave the House. We will have a variety of activities planned for each day. There will be designed activities where campers will be able to make something themselves that they can keep. This means a lot of arts and crafts-based activities such as making holiday cards, holiday ornaments, and much more. They love bringing their creations to their rooms for siblings to see and to their home when they leave as a physical reminder of the fun they had and the friends they made. Your generosity has never been more important, and we thank you. RMHC Toronto is experiencing a time of great need as programs shift in response to COVID-19, including cancellation of fundraising events and volunteer meal programs, all while families and hospital partners continue to look to RMHC Toronto for support. When the unimaginable happens, RMHC is there for the patients and their families. And now, let us do our part do be there for the patients and families too. Keeping families close, always.
